MSU Investigation Clears Professor Sue Carter

Michigan State University’s Office of Institutional Equity has cleared Journalism professor Sue Carter of a complaint of sexual harassment.

In January, Dearborn psychologist Ellen Fedon-Keyt claimed Carter drew her into an inappropriate relationship more than 2-decades ago when she was a student at Wayne State University.

The investigation found that Fedon-Keyt was not enrolled in a class with Carter at the time of their relationship and sexual harassment did not occur.

The investigation also found that their relationship was consensual.

In response, Carter told WKAR, "This ends a painful and unnecessary attack on me."

Months ago, Carter resigned her position as MSU’s Faculty Athletic Representative in the wake the Larry Nassar sexual abuse scandal.

Correction: in the original story we said Carter was a professor at Wayne State University at the time of the relationship with Fedon-Keyt. That was incorrect and we've omitted that line.

Editor's note: Sue Carter served as an advisor to the WKAR NewsTeam in 2016 and 2017.
