WKAR's Al Martin wraps-up MSU's Big Ten opening win over Nebraska at Spartan Stadium. The Spartans topped the Cornhuskers, 27 to 22. Following MSU's win to open the Big Ten season, the Spartans moved up to No. 8 in both The Associated Press Poll and Amway Coaches Poll. The No. 8/8 Spartans (4-1, 1-0) will now hit the road to take on Purdue (3-3, 1-1) Saturday, Oct. 11 at 3:30 p.m. in West Lafayette, Indiana.
WKAR's Al Martin reports from Spartan Stadium on how the MSU football team was able to get back on track, topping EMU 73 to 14. The Spartans were coming off a bye week after a crushing road loss to Oregon. The sting of that defeat is now well behind them.
Every home football Saturday here in East Lansing, thousands of people flock to the Michigan State campus to take part in a sacred ritual: tailgating. But the pastime takes a toll. After the celebrating, landscaping personnel at MSU repair damage to grass and trees.
Some of those personnel are calling last Saturday’s damage the worst they’ve seen.
The Michigan State University Spartans clinched a 21 to 6 victory over the University of South Florida in East Lansing Saturday. The MSU offense scored only one drive in the game; the rest of the scoring was handled by the defensive squad.
