The Renegade Theatre Festival will be back in Old Town Lansing for a ninth year this week. On Thursday through Saturday, there will be a variety of theatrical events in several Old Town locations, and a number of local theatre companies are again taking part.
The 20th Michigan Shakespeare Festival season includes what might be the biggest of all the Bard’s works: "Hamlet". Also on the schedule is one lesser-known Shakespeare play and one non-Shakespeare classic.
The 29th annual Vintage Electronics Extravaganza gets underway this weekend in Lansing. The Michigan Antique Radio Club spearheads the gathering, which happens to be one of the largest of its kind in the country. Approximately 200 to 300 sellers will have a diverse mixture of vintage radio, telephone and other electronic items on display and for sale.
Dr. Kirk Heinze is host of the regular feature “Greening of the Great Lakes” on WKAR’s MSU Today. Some of those conversations make their way to Current State. In a recent segment, Heinze spoke with Terry Terry, co-founder and president of the Michigan Institute for Contemporary Art and organizer of the new Grand American Fish Rodeo. The Lansing event takes place this today through Saturday at Adado Riverfront Park.
