Richard Sherman, Minsoo Sohn to perform live on 90.5FM

MSU faculty musicians Richard Sherman and Minsoo Sohn will perform live on WKAR this afternoon, Friday, April 18th at 2:00pm.  The flute/piano duo will premiere the new occasional 90.5 Classical series, Live from Studio S.  Sherman and Sohn will perform selections from their Saturday, April 19th Fairchild Theatre program of 20th century French music for flute and piano.  Hear Sherman and Sohn with music and conversation joined by WKAR's Peter Whorf .

Marriner at 90

Founder of the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields...first music director of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra...hundreds of best-selling recordings.  Sir Neville Marriner has remained one of the most important classical artists of the 20th and 21st centuries.  In tribute to the great conductor (and violinist), WKAR's Mark Schwitzgoebel and Jody Knol will feature wall-to-wall Marriner tomorrow from 10am to 4pm.  Be sure to join Wolfgang, Johann, Mark, Jody and the rest for Tuesday's musical celebration!

Ann Arbor Symphony Comes to WKAR

WKAR and the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra will team for their first live broadcast together on Saturday April 12 at 8pm.  The all-Brahms season finale concert will feature violin soloist Itamar Zorman and cellist David Requiro in a program which comes to you from the Michigan Theatre.  Also on the bill are Brahms's Symphony No. 1, Academic Festival Overture, and U of M professor Bright Sheng's "Black Swan" - a ravishing arrangement of one of the piano intermezzi by Brahms.
