Former Ingham County Commissioner Penelope Tsernoglou wants to replace Sam Singh in the state House.

A former Ingham County Commissioner has announced plans to run for the state House in the 69th district, where she would replace term-limited Representative Sam Singh.

Penelope Tsernoglou, like Singh, is a Democrat. She represented East Lansing on the county commission for six years before choosing not to run for re-election last year while having a baby.

She describes herself as “a fighter for progressive values.”

The 69th state House district includes East Lansing, along with Meridian, Locke and Williamstown Townships.
