Former MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine Dean William Strampel has permanently surrendered his medical license.
As Dean, William Strampel had been Larry Nassar’s supervisor at MSU.
In June, Strampel was convicted of one count of misconduct in office and two counts of willful neglect of duty in the Nassar sex abuse scandal. He was sentenced to 11 months in jail on one of those counts, and a year on the other two.
The consent order relinquishing his license to practice medicine has been submitted to the Board of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery, which had suspended his license following his conviction.
According to Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel’s office, Strampel has also been ordered to pay a $35,000 fine to the state.
