Showers Possible This Weekend

The National Weather Service forecasts partly sunny skies on Friday and chance of showers on Saturday. 

The National Weather Service office in Grand Rapids forecasts sunny and rainy skies in the days ahead for the greater Lansing area:

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 60. East southeast wind 6 to 10 mph.

Friday Night: Showers likely, with thunderstorms also possible after 5am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. South southeast wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 8am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 8am and 2pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 76. Southwest wind 8 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday Night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59. Southwest wind 11 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Sunday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 67.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 41.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 59.
