Pop-Up Stories: Turning Over a New Leaf

Sep 14, 2016

Thur. Sept. 29 at 6pm at Reach Studio Art Center in Lansing, MI | Have you ever had a fresh start? A clean slate?

From new jobs to new relationships, most of us have encountered new beginnings at one time or another.

The phrase “turning over a new leaf” came to signify starting over because pages in a book used to be called leaves, and to turn the page was to encounter something new.

So what happened when you turned the page in your own life? We want to hear about it!

Come join us at Reach Studio Art Center for an evening of community storytelling on the theme "turning over a new leaf." Stories should be true, firsthand accounts. They should be around five minutes long and family and FCC friendly. If you don't have a story to share, come enjoy yourself as an audience member!

Morning Edition host Brooke Allen will be hosting the event, and refreshments will be provided.

If you want to sign up to tell a story, or request additional information or assistance for persons with disabilities, please email Katie Cook at kcook@wkar.org.
