Penelope Tsernoglou wins Ingham Co. commission primary

By Scott Pohl, WKAR News

EAST LANSING, MI – Penelope Tsernoglou was the winner in the four-candidate democratic primary Tuesday in the special election for the Ingham County Board of Commissioners. She got all 87 votes cast in the MSU student-heavy 1st precinct on her way to a 22-vote win over Robert Alexander.

Tsernoglou will be unopposed in the general election on May 4th because there were no candidates running as a republican or in any other party. There still could be a write-in campaign for the seat.

Marc Thomas resigned from the 8th district seat in East Lansing last year. Shelby Bupp was appointed to the seat, but she withdrew from the primary election.
