ITEC works with students to sharpen their science and technology skills.

It’s never too early to foster excitement for the fields of science, technology, engineering and math. The Information Technology Empowerment Center (ITEC) offers programs that teach technological skills to students from middle school up to adulthood. For Neighbors in Action, we check in with ITEC’s Executive Director Kirk Riley, and Nancy Lubeski, principal of Wexford Montessori Academy in Lansing.

The demand for information technology professionals continues to grow, but student interest in STEM subjects: science, technology, engineering, and math has declined.

The Information Technology Empowerment Center (ITEC) aims to improve performance in all these subjects as well as in robotics, writing, and digital media.

For Neighbors in Action, we speak with ITEC’s Executive Director Kirk Riley and Nancy Lubeski, principal of Wexford Montessori Academy.
