Republican and Democratic nominating conventions are days away. The focus is on uniting delegates, platforms and potential vice presidential running mates. We talk with MSU Associate Professor of Political Science Matt Grossmann.

Anticipation is building for the Republican and Democratic national conventions. Both are coming up this month. As the gatherings near, efforts to unite both parties persist amid reports of a Republican effort to stop likely nominee Donald Trump. And, both front-runners will soon be announcing their Vice Presidential candidates.

Current State talks with Matt Grossmann, an Associate Professor of Political Science here at Michigan State. His research and writing includes American political parties and campaigns.
