EAST LANSING, MI –

Michigan State University officials say they're delaying the opening of the Broad Art Museum until the fall.

A press release from the school says the postponement is due to construction material delays and the ability to better involve students in the fall.

The statement says the delay is not expected to change the project's budget.

The $40-45 million museum was scheduled to open April 21. MSU says it will announce a new date soon.
