The survivor of an attack by serial killer Don Miller in the 1970s is expressing relief over the denial of Miller’s application for parole.
Don Miller is known to have killed at least four women in the Lansing area. His unsuccessful attack on Randy Gilbert and his sister in Delta Township led to his arrest.
Miller is imprisoned until 2031 for possession of a weapon in his prison cell. His recent application for release was denied this week by the state parole board.
Gilbert says he was thankful to receive confirmation of that news. “I was very delighted of course," Gilbert says. "I was expecting this turnout, but to see it in print, it was a whole different feeling.”
Gilbert says the denial has relieved a lot of stress, calling the news “a great, if temporary, relief.”
Miller can apply for parole again next year.
