Mid-Michigan moms remember Sandy Hook tragedy

Flickr - Michigan Engineering

Tomorrow marks the anniversary of the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School. A year ago, a gunman broke into the school in Newtown, Connecticut and killed 20 children and 6 adults.Very shortly after the horrific tragedy, the advocacy group Mom’s Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, was founded. There are now more than 125,000 members nationwide and at least one chapter in each state.

Linda Brundage is a founder of the Mid-Michigan chapter of Mom’s Demand Action. They're planning a memorial in Lansing in Saturday.

Brundage says the organization was instrumental in getting a state background check law introduced in the state House, but it languishes in committee.
