Michigan jobless rate drops slightly

LANSING, MI – Michigan's jobless rate remained stable in January. The January rate of 14.3 was a minuscule .2% point lower than the December rate. There were 693,000 thousand unemployed people looking for work in Michigan in January. When people who've given up looking or are working part-time are counted, the unemployment and under-employment rate in January was 21.9%.
