MI Officials Launch 'LansingStrong4TX' Relief Effort

The city of Lansing is joining the American Red Cross and other service agencies to launch a relief effort for victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas.

The campaign dubbed #LansingStrong4TX hopes to raise $10,000 in cash to the American Red Cross.

Organizers are also accepting other donations, including toiletries, baby supplies and cleaning products.

“Lansing is going to step up to the plate,” says co-organizer Renee Freeman.  “We’re going to show our unity and coordinate this effort and send everything back to Texas in a grand style!”

Dean Trailways is providing a bus that will deliver supplies and volunteers to Texas.

The bus is expected to depart Lansing on or around September 12 and return the following week.
