Lansing Community College’s search for a new President begins today. Brent Knight announced last week that he would retire in 2020.
The LCC Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting today to talk about the process for finding Knight’s successor.
Board Chair Lawrence Hidalgo Jr. served on the screening committee that led to Knight’s appointment in 2008.
Hidalgo adds that he doesn’t think an interim President will be needed, saying "he’s given us enough advance notice, according to the experts in filling Presidential positions. We should not necessarily need an interim. There should be plenty of time to start the process and have someone selected before he leaves.”
LCC Trustees will meet at 5:30 p.m. in the Administration Building Boardroom. The agenda does include time for public comment.
