Lansing Mayor Joins Movement to Uphold Paris Climate Agreement

Jun 16, 2017

After calling President Donald Trump's decision to pull the U.S. out of the Paris Agreement climate goals "reckless," Lansing mayor Virg Bernero joined more than 300 mayors across America in an effort to hold up the Agreement's goals.

Two weeks ago, President Trump announced that the United States is pulling out of the Paris Accord.

Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti is leading the Mayor's National Climate Action Agenda and more than 300 mayors have signed on.

In a statement announcing that he's joining the national movement, Lansing mayor Virg Bernero touted Lansing's efforts to reduce waste, preserve rivers, reduce emissions and conserve energy through the Lansing Board of Water and Light's Live Green Lansing program.
