The Andromeda Community Theatre in Charlotte is about to launch an ambitious staging of “To Kill A Mockingbird.” It’s been adapted from the beloved Harper Lee novel by Christopher Sergel. The story, of course, is that of Atticus Finch, a lawyer in a small southern town and his defense of an innocent African-American man accused of rape as seen through the eyes of Finch's young daughter, Scout.
The play will be staged in the historic red 1885 Courthouse courtroom at Courthouse Square in Charlotte.
Current State talks to Andrew Hipkess, resident director of Andromeda Community Theatre, and Andromeda Theatre board member Frank Boston.
