K-12 Education Budget May Be Near

By Rick Pluta, MPRN

LANSING (MI) – House and Senate leaders at the state Capitol say they are close to a deal on a K-12 schools budget. Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop says the Senate will either adopt a budget on Wednesday, or approve a temporary spending plan that will allow schools to receive federal funds and state aid payments. There has been no schools budget since the state's new fiscal year began six days ago.
