LANSING, MI – Ingham county health officials hope to deplete their initial supply of H1N1 vaccine Saturday. The department has about 3,500 doses ready for its first public vaccination clinic on South Cedar street in Lansing. Doctor Dean Sienko is Ingham County Medical Director. He says Saturday's clinic is only for county residents at high risk for the disease. Those groups are:
"Pregnant women, household members of infants under 6 months of age, children under age five and then children five to 18 with underlying medical conditions," he says.
Sienko says the CDC recommends that all people eventually get vaccinated for H1N1. He plans to order more vaccine as soon as he learns from federal officials that more is available.
