Flooding Closes Roads Around MSU & Lansing

Flood waters continue to close roads and walkways around MSU, Lansing and Ingham County.

Flood waters from the swollen Grand and Red Cedar rivers closed roads and walkways around Michigan State University and throughout the greater Lansing area on Saturday.

In downtown Lansing, high water from the Grand River closed the riverwalk near the Lansing Center.

On the MSU campus, portions of Chestnut and Red Cedar Roads as well as the McLane Baseball Stadium and several pathways remain under water.

Last week, heavy rains and a heavy wet snow fell on Central Michigan, swelling creeks and rivers.

Throughout Ingham County, the following closures are in effect:

Ottawa Drive and Nakoma Dr intersection

Hillcrest Avenue - Between Okemos Road and Seminole Drive

Columbia Road - Between Dietz Road and Haywood Road

Okemos Road - Between Central Park Drive and Haslett Road

Olds Road - Between Cooper Road and Meridian Road

Wallace Road / Huschke Road - Between M-43 and Gramer Road

Linn Road - Between Meech Road and Dietz Road

Nims Road - Between Meridian Road and Fitchburg Road

Tacoma Boulevard – Between Penobscot Drive and Red Wing Drive
