Downtown Eaton Rapids Added to National Register

The National Park Service has named downtown Eaton Rapids to the National Register of Historic Places.

City officials say Monday's designation could lead to federal and state funding to repair old downtown buildings and to Island Park.

The register is a list of historic places considered worthy of preservation.
