Dan Bayer Recognized by Summer Solstice Jazz Festival

WKAR is pleased to congratulate our colleague, Dan Bayer, on receiving the Summer Solstice Jazz Festival (SSJF) Director Chair Award for 2012.

The award was presented by Lois Mummaw for the Summer Solstice Jazz Festival Advisory Board. The Director Chair award has been given since 2009 to recognize longevity, volunteerism, and passion for the annual event.  John McDaniel was also honored with the award this year.

Previous recipients of the award were SSJF Founders Al and Beth Cafagna (2009); Festival Coordinator Ami Van Antwerp and Major Sponsor Gregg Hill (2010) and co-producers Rodney Whitaker and Mike Brand (2011)

Mummaw said "Dan was chosen this year because of his many years as emcee of SSJF and his year-round dedication to jazz."

Dan Bayer is host and producer of "The Dan Bayer Jazz Show," heard Saturday nights at 8 p.m. on 90.5 WKAR.
