Former Vice President Joe Biden was in Michigan Wednesday to help Democratic gubernatorial nominee Gretchen Whitmer raise funds for her campaign.
Whitmer, Biden and Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan stopped at Leo’s Coney Island in Southfield before heading to a private fundraiser in Bloomfield Hills.
Biden ordered a Coney Dog with no onion and talked about how important the 2018 election will be.
He said he stands behind Whitmer because of her character.
“Do you know why you want this job?," asked Biden. "Something bigger than you. She knows it. I really mean it, she gets it. She gets it. I’m really proud to be with her.”
Over in Grand Rapids, current Vice President Mike Pence was in town to talk about President Donald Trump’s tax policies.
