Lansing, MI – Lansing Mayor and Democratic nominee for governor Virg Bernero has begun accepting televised debate offers, although the first TV station he said "yes" to, WXYZ in Southfield, has not decided if it will sponsor a debate without Republican nominee Rick Snyder.

Bernero is taking Snyder to task for ending the debate negotiations last week.
He says, "The voters deserve more than an infomercial. They deserve to see an actual debate where we face the music, where we're asked questions that make us uncomfortable, but voters deserve our unscripted answers."

Bernero says he will show up at as many scheduled TV debates as he can.

Snyder's campaign spokesman says he is not dodging debates. He says the discussions became pointless because the Bernero campaign continued to negotiate details after verbal agreements were reached.
