Earlier this week, our first guest triggered an intense reaction when he suggested the Flint water crisis is “overblown.” Tuesday evening on Michigan Public Television, political journalist and commentator Bill Ballenger said “I’m reading the same news media you are and contributing to and most of what has been written has been wrong. Dead wrong.”

Over the years, Ballenger has become a fixture on Michigan’s political landscape as a sought-after journalist and commentator. He’s known best for launching and contributing to the newsletter Inside Michigan Politics. He’s also been a regular on Michigan Public Television’s "Off the Record," which airs on WKAR-TV.

Current State talks with Bill Ballenger about the Flint water crisis and the decision by Inside Michigan Politics publisher Susan Demas to sever ties with him.
