Ahead of LSO performance, Rachel Barton Pine describes her 1742 Guarneri violin

It’s time for the Lansing Symphony’s first concert of 2016, and Maestro Timothy Muffitt welcomes violinist Rachel Barton Pine to the Wharton Center. We talk with her about her violin that’s older than America, as well as find out what happens when a classical composer tries to assassinate someone.


This weekend, the Lansing Symphony Orchestra welcomes one of the great violinists on the scene, Rachel Barton Pine, to the Wharton Center.

Her selection for this weekend’s Lansing Symphony concert is the "Scottish Fantasy" by Max Bruch, a work she clearly adores.
