WKAR is seeking a talented professional to lead our education efforts. This role provides strategic and operational leadership of all education initiatives and is responsible for collaborative planning, monitoring, execution, and fulfillment of projects. As a successful candidate, you will work closely with the General Manager to shape the future of WKAR’s education initiatives, foster local and national collaborations and, in conjunction with our development team, find, solicit, secure and manage grant funding and build key foundation or corporation relationships to increase the financial support of our education strategy. The ideal candidate will have a Masters in Education, Business, or Public Policy with over 5 years of teaching and/or community based non-profit experience; experience working with innovative technologies in education; and proven record of grant writing/fundraising, strategy, and program development.

WKAR is a division of the College of Communication Arts & Sciences at Michigan State University. It includes WKAR-TV, WKAR AM and FM, WKAR.org, the Radio Reading Service, and WKAR Ready-To-Learn, and reaches more than a half-million mid-Michigan residents each week, and contributes to the educational experience of Michigan State University's 47,000-plus student body.
