Lansing mayor Andy Schor expects nearly 300 homes to be severely flooded. A lot of concern is in the Urbandale neighborhood west of US 127 and north of I-496. WKAR went with along with two volunteers as they spread the word about evacuation orders for the Urbandale neighborhood in Lansing on Wednesday evening.

There are several school closings and delays due to weather.

Later this week, the Grand River in Lansing is expected to be at its highest level since 1985. The National Weather Service predicts the river to be cresting at 14 feet on Friday.

There are school delays and closings on February 12th, 2018 due to weather.

Updated at 6:30 a.m.: The Lansing and Jackson school districts and several other districts have closed ahead of a winter storm on February 9. Some parts of the Lansing area are expected to receive 6-8 inches of snow. Areas to the south could receive 8-10 inches of snow. Click on this story to see the list.

A wintry blast of weather it taking aim at the Upper Midwest, with forecasters warning that the storm could bring up to a foot of snow to some states.

This morning, there are several school closings throughout mid-Michigan. We received around 7-8 inches overnight and are expected to receieve around 1-2 more inches throughout the day. Roads are slick due to the amount of snow so be careful driving while you commute.
