WKAR TV’S "QuizBusters" celebrates 25 years on the air this year. Since its premiere, the program has been hosted by Matt Ottinger.

Last week I wrote about the new fall season at WKAR. But some of that new season is recorded right here -- and it all begins next week!

BackStage Pass is returning for a new recording season, starting off with a three-day concert extravaganza at Hannah Community Center, June 18-20!

We're excited to have a diverse group of bands on stage -- three nights, six bands! And best of all the tickets are free! Just get them online here. Seating is by general admission.

BackStage Pass premieres on January 20, at a new time! Look for us every Sunday at 7 p.m., with encore broadcasts at 8 p.m. the following Saturday on WKAR World and at 11 p.m. that Saturday on WKAR.

Off the Record with Tim Skubick presents a debate between two candidates for the Michigan State University Board of Trustees in the October 26 episode of the weekly capitol affairs program from WKAR.

Some things make my job even more fun than it already is. WKAR's taping of our QuizBusters Special Edition on Tuesday, September 11, was one of them.

We had 16 special guests — all well known in the community — playing our popular QuizBusters game. They were lively, fun and smart – and they all seemed to be having a great time. It was fun to see all the Facebook chatter after the show.

Nearly 200 guests filled Studio A on September 6 as the new season for WKAR Public Media was revealed.

Participants in WKAR’s upcoming “QuizBusters Special Edition” competition were revealed on Thursday, September 6, at the station’s fall preview.

Playing the first game for the Green Team are Scott Westerman, President, MSU Alumni Association; Jen Sygit, Michigan-based singer and songwriter; Sue Carter, MSU School of Journalism faculty member, author and intrepid adventurer; and team captain Guy Sanville, Artistic Director, Purple Rose Theatre.

WKAR-TV is proud of its PBS national schedule, which offers you the best in drama, documentary and news. But we are equally proud (maybe a little more so) of the terrific work done right here at WKAR, including BackStage Pass, Off the Record and QuizBusters.

This is a busy week for WKAR-TV! On Thursday, I went over with some of our staff to check in on the set-up for BackStage Pass at East Lansing’s Hannah Community Center.  I’m really proud of our team for all the work they’re doing to stage the show in this new venue.
