Support WKAR

Whether you enjoy classical music or news from National Public Radio on WKAR Radio, or you like the diversity of programs on WKAR-TV's three digital channels, you will discover something that will expand your knowledge and allow you to explore new subjects and places.

Or, WKAR programs may simply help you relax and enjoy your day.

Our community provides more than 50 percent of WKAR's financial support. Thanks to you, WKAR stations can continue to provide the programs you love and value.

Join us in our upcoming Pledge Madness, March 3-18 on WKAR-TV, by being a telephone volunteer.

We're recruiting volunteers to answer phones during this event. If you are interested in volunteering, please give WKAR Membership a call at (517) 432-3120, ext. 374 or email membership@wkar.org.

We need phone operators evenings and weekends from Saturday, March 3 through Sunday, March 18. Let us hear from you!

WKAR was selected by members of the University Club of MSU to compete in their "Big Bang-Quet" $10,000 Community Charity Challenge. WKAR is one of 26 mid-Michigan organizations asking the public for their votes to help us win a $10,000 credit towards a fundraising event held in the University Club's newly renovated dining room.

The program is conducted by the University Club of MSU in conjunction with the Capital region Community Foundation (CRCF) and sponsored by the MSU Federal Credit Union.

As a WKAR-TV member, you don't simply watch public television programs.

You help WKAR produce, purchase and broadcast programs you care about and enjoy -- every day of the year! Your gift makes it all possible.

Consider joining the select group of companies and organizations who partner with WKAR each year.

Volunteering for WKAR is a great way to meet new people and help support your public broadcasting stations!

Gifts to WKAR are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Until December 31, 2011 gifts to public broadcasting are eligible for a State of Michigan Tax Credit. The credit expires on December 31, 2011.

Are you looking for new ways to protect your family and your money?

Would you like to cut estate taxes and probate costs, too?

Would you like to remember WKAR in your estate plans?

A personal trust may be the answer for you. It can be the ideal solution when you would like to make a gift to WKAR, but first must satisfy your own family's financial needs.

Personal trusts let you have it both ways -- passing assets to your heirs with the least amount of tax, while making a future gift to WKAR.

Through the creative process of having planned giving strategies incorporated within your comprehensive estate plans, you can fulfill philanthropic goals, reduce income taxes, avoid capital gain and estate taxes, retain a life income, increase spendable income, and reduce costs of estate settlement, all while enjoying the satisfaction of providing significant future financial support for WKAR designated per your wishes.

Current gifts and pledges, often made in conjunction with planned giving strategies, can have a direct and immediate impact on WKAR in general or on programming and services of your choice.

There are many ways that you can make a gift to charity. Knowing the options is a first step in building your giving plan.

Become a Radio Evergreen Partner | Become a TV Evergreen Partner

An Evergreen Partner is a WKAR member who has chosen to make an ongoing commitment to supporting strong public broadcasting for the Mid-Michigan community.

Make your gift to WKAR do double duty! If you work for one of more than 900 companies across the country which match their employees' contributions to public broadcasting or higher education, your gift could double in value!

The WKAR Legacy Society recognizes those who have established planned gifts for the future support of WKAR -- radio and television.

The WKAR Sound Vision Society is for individual and corporate donors to make a larger investment in the future of WKAR Radio and Television. This giving society is designed to make WKAR richer, not ultimately in dollars, but in essential resources that only dollars can provide.

The Producers Circle is a distinct group of members committed to excellence in broadcasting.  Producers Circle members support the programming and services of WKAR with membership contributions totaling $500.00 or more annually to either TV or Radio.

Endowed funds are a conservative and intelligent way to guarantee the future of public broadcasting -- radio and television -- and enhance the quality of programming, education and outreach undertaken by the stations.
