WKAR Receives Michigan Emmy Award Nominations

WKAR is pleased to announce that three programs produced and one presented by WKAR have been nominated for Michigan Emmy Awards. Nominees for the 35th Michigan Emmys were announced Wednesday, May 15.

On May 3, Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson made headlines on “Off the Record,” taking Michigan’s GOP Speaker of the House, Jase Bolger, to task for his tactics to pass legislation that would change Michigan’s No-Fault Insurance law (House Bill 4612). Patterson opposes the legislation, which would cap the lifetime benefits for catastrophic auto injuries at $1 million.

Friends Say Farewell to Earle Robinson

Friends of Earle Robinson said farewell to the SportsTalk/870 host and WKAR sports director at a gala dinner following the Spartan Sports Journalism Spectacular on April 11.

On April 11, 2013 the Michigan State University College of Communication Arts & Sciences and WKAR hosted a day of events with professionals in the sports journalism world including people from Milwaukee Brewers, CBS Sports Network, Fox Sports Detroit, Big Ten Network, The Dallas Morning News, Detroit Free Press, Yahoo! Sports, Fox 17 TV (Grand Rapids), USA Today, Fox Sports South, Detroit News, and more!
