The 2000 MSU national championship men's basketball team was honored at halftime of Saturday's game between the Spartans and Florida Gators. Bryn Forbes had 12 points and six rebounds and fellow senior Denzel Valentine added 17 points, helping the No. 1 Spartans beat Florida 58-52, moving the team to 11-0 on the year.

The Trice family seems to be more familiar with unfamiliar paths that lead to success. Travis Trice Jr., Michigan State alum and recent New York Knicks signee, proved to his little brother, D’Mitrik, you can get to where you’re going no matter the path it entails.

D’Mitrik, or Meech as his family calls him, attended Wayne High School in Huber Heights, Ohio to play basketball under his father, Travis Trice Sr.

Thirty years ago, Ron Fox never saw himself as taking over a dying Kendo Club at Michigan State University. Fox studied at MSU and became interested in in the martial art of Kendo during his sophomore year.

Today, Fox is a Kendo world champion. And he is the leader and sensei of the MSU’s growing Kendo club - a decision that he calls one of the best he has ever made.

How he got into Kendo and how he became the leader for the club at Michigan State is a fascinating story that comes full circle.
