The Michigan State football team held its first practice on Saturday at Mesa College in San Diego, California with temperatures in the mid-60s. The No. 16 Spartans will play No. 18 Washington State on December 28th at 9pm in the 40th annual San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl. The team worked out in full pads for two-and-a-half hours, followed by a team lift.

After the MSU men's basketball win over Southern Utah on Saturday night, head coach Tom Izzo spoke to the media about the criticism that he received concerning sophomore forward Nick Ward. Izzo was scrutinized for his benching of Ward after Tuesday's Big Ten win over Rutgers, in which Ward only played 11 minutes in the 10 point win.

Michigan football coach Jim Harbaugh has called out Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio via Twitter today. 

"Saw Coach D comments on continuing to "focus" on how "he" can beat Michigan. Congrats on turning around a 3-9 team, plagued with off field issues," Harbaugh wrote. "Good for BIG to have him back."

The No. 16 Michigan State football team has accepted an invitation to play in the 40th annual San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl against No. 18 Washington State on Thursday, December 28 at 9pm. The game will be held in Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California. 

MSU (9-3) has never played in the Holiday Bowl and is 5-2 all-time against Washington State, the last meeting taking place back in 1977.

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's club rowing team recently welcomed multiple Michigan schools for the Head of the Grand Regatta. Grand Valley, Michigan Tech, Eastern Michigan and other clubs participated in the annual Fall race. The event included races for men's and women's crews.

Aaron Henry is one of the latest recruits for the Michigan State Class of 2018 from Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, Indiana.  The 6-foot-5, 200-pound small forward was originally born in Louisville, Kentucky.  Via Twitter, Henry announced that he committed to Michigan State and he is confident that he made the right decision. Henry has always dreamed of playing college basketball and Michigan State was his dream school.
