"BackStage Pass" from WKAR Public Media kicks off a new production season with four concert tapings at East Lansing Hannah Community Center on June 26 and 27. The featured bands will be Home Again, Domestic Problems, Howling Diablos and Silent Lapse.

WKAR-TV and Radio took home a collection of awards from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters, including that of Public Television Station of the Year. Awards were presented at the Great Lakes Broadcast Conference during the Broadcast Excellence Awards ceremony March 14, in Lansing.

WKAR, Michigan State University's public television station, announced the winner of its 2011 "QuizBusters" Championship on Tuesday night. The fast-paced academic game show awarded students from two mid-Michigan high schools scholarships to Michigan State University.

WKAR Radio and Television are hosting the stations’ annual drive for the Greater Lansing Food Bank from November 1 through December 15. Those wishing to participate may bring their items of commercially bagged, boxed or canned food to the South Lobby of the Communication Arts & Sciences Building.
