Two legends of punk rock music will be in Lansing for a concert tonight, but rather than screaming electric guitars, the show will be acoustic. The “Punk Goes Acoustic” tour features Sylvain Sylvain, who played guitar in the New York Dolls, and Glen Matlock, who was the original bassist in the Sex Pistols before the infamous Sid Vicious.
Drew Howard is a veteran fixture of Lansing's and Michigan's music scene, as both a studio musician and performer. He discusses his long musical career and plays guitar and dobro throughout the show as part of our Friday Music Series on Current State.
Coolio got his start in the Los Angeles rap music scene in the late 80s and early 90s, and he hit it big when the producers of the movie “Dangerous Minds” chose his song “Gangsta’s Paradise” for the soundtrack.
