With the recent shakeup behind the bench of Michigan State hockey, Danton Cole is now the man in charge. Cole, having only been in East Lansing for a few short months, has already hit the recruiting trail to find future Spartan hockey stars, such as he once was. He joined "Current Sports with Al Martin" to discuss the transition.

The surging MSU hockey team is heading into the Big Ten Tournament in Detroit this weekend with a number 2 seed. That earned them a bye into the second round, where they’ll play tomorrow against the winner of today’s Michigan-Wisconsin game.

MSU hockey team begins CCHA playoffs in Alaska

The Michigan State hockey team finished in last place this season. Their 12th place finish puts them in the position to play 6th-seeded Alaska in Fairbanks in the first round of the CCHA tournament. There are lots of challenges facing the Spartans, including traveling to Alaska for the second time in two weeks.
