The IM West basketball courts have seen better days, but the culture and community built around pickup basketball is just as vibrant.

The atmosphere inside of Michigan State’s famous sporting venues comes with its own vibes and rules. And students are happy to carry that forward.

The $200 million facilities opened April 15, and is already a hit with students and club sports enthusiasts.

Madilyn Weigand and Malik Gill, both 22, are MSU grads who stayed close to their alma mater in an important role: helping the football program with recruiting.

Their work builds stability, culture, and continuity across hockey and men’s basketball.
