If you are anticipating the season of baking that’s just around the corner, get a few tips and recipes from Linda Hundt, best known as “Sweetie-licious.” The local entrepreneur and owner of Sweetie-licious Bakery Café in DeWitt will share her baking secrets in a new WKAR-TV special, Sweetie-licious: A Taste of the Season.

Home For the Holidays!

The program is part of WKAR’s “Home for the Holidays” array of specials airing in December on the public television station.

In its annual holiday survey of parents of 2 to 10-year-olds, PBS KIDS found that the leading trend in gifts for kids this year will be downloadable such as apps, games, e-books and digital music. Fifty-eight percent  of parents reported that they will “most likely” or “definitely” be purchasing downloadable gifts this season. Of these parents, more than half (55 percent) plan to spend more or the same as last year on downloads.

MSU Symphony conductor Leon Gregorian has been on research leave this semester. He'll be back to conduct the MSU Symphony Orchestra next semester, and then plans to retire in April. He'll be conducting the upcoming "Home for the Holidays" concert, and WKAR's Melissa Benmark recently spoke with him, asking him first about his time off.
