A long-time Lansing State Journal executive has a new masthead. Mickey Hirten joined the LSJ in 2001 and spent a dozen years as the paper’s executive editor.

Recently, the EPA denied Enbridge’s request to extend the deadline for dredging sections of the Kalamazoo River. Enbridge is still trying to clean up the remaining tar sands crude oil in the Kalamazoo watershed from the spill three years ago.

The next major exhibition at MSU’s Broad Art Museum features works by a Lansing-born architect. Born in 1940, Lebbeus Woods passed away last year.
