Spartans Push Buckeyes to the Brink

The Michigan State football team almost upset the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes on Saturday afternoon at Spartan Stadium, 17-16 the final. The Spartans were down 17-10 when LJ Scott scored on a 1-yard run with 4:41 to play. Tyler O'Connor's pass was intercepted in the end zone on a 2pt conversion attempt that would've given MSU the lead.

Michigan State seniors Denzel Valentine, Bryn Forbes, Matt Costello and Colby Wollenman said goodbye to the Breslin Center on Saturday afternoon, topping Ohio State 91-76 on Senior Day. The Spartans (26-5, 13-5 Big Ten) have won 10 of their last 11 games, earning No. 2 seeding in the conference tournament.

The Michigan State men's basketball team beat Ohio State, 76-67, at the United Center in Chicago, IL, moving on to the semifinals of the Big Ten Tournament.  

WKAR's Al Martin reports from Spartan Stadium on the aftermath of MSU's defeat to Ohio State, 49 to 37 the final. The four-team playoff hopes of the Spartans have now vanished, and the Spartans now try to lick their wounds and find other motivators to finish the season strong.  The Buckeyes have not lost at Spartan Stadium since 1999 and have defeated Michigan State four times in the past six games.
