From EL to Indy: MSU in the Final Four

Michigan State will play Duke Saturday night in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament Final Four. This team has had an impressive run through the latter stages of the Big Ten season, the Big Ten tournament and now the NCAA tournament. Can MSU beat the Blue Devils and then, either Kentucky or Wisconsin in the championship game on Monday night?

After nail-biting games, MSU bound for Final Four

Fans poured onto the streets of East Lansing after MSU's win over Louisville earned the Spartans another trip to the Final Four.

Michigan State won two more games over the weekend, including yesterday’s thrilling 76-70 overtime win over Louisville to win the East regional of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. Tom Izzo is taking the Spartans to the Final Four for the seventh time in his 20 years as head coach.

Sweet 16: Rexrode with Spartans in Syracuse

A berth in the Elite Eight is on the line tonight when Tom Izzo's Spartans face Oklahoma in the NCAA men's basketball tournament.

The Michigan State men’s basketball team beat Georgia and Virginia last weekend to advance to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament. The Spartans have now made it to the Sweet 16 in seven of the last eight seasons. Tonight, MSU will try to advance against the Oklahoma Sooners. The game will be played in Syracuse, New York shortly after 10 p.m. tonight.

Izzo takes another Spartan team to the Sweet 16

Coach Tom Izzo's Spartans have knocked Virginia out of the NCAA tournament two years in a row.

The MSU men’s basketball team has beaten Georgia and Virginia to advance to the NCAA tournament’s Sweet 16. MSU will play Oklahoma in the next round of the tournament. The game will be Friday night in Syracuse, New York.

State Championship for Haslett Now One Game Away | Current Sports | WKAR

The No. 8 Haslett Vikings girls basketball team defeated Benton Harbor in the Class B state semifinal, 63 to 52, at the Breslin Center to advance to the state championship tomorrow at 6pm against Detroit Country Day. Senior Forward Makenna Ott lead the team with 16 points and eight rebounds, as four of the five Vikings starters scored in double-digits.

Spartans struggle to rebound from midseason slump

It was a frustrating outing Saturday for Michigan State men's basketball.  The team's performance was lacking in a number of areas in its 79-77 loss to Nebraska.

"Jekyll and Hyde" is the way the Detroit Free Press's Joe Rexrode described both the game and the season.

Rexrode and WKAR's Al Martin comment on where the Spartans stand at this point in the conference season.
