Lansing Symphony to play MasterWorks IV

WKAR's Melissa Benmark talks with Lansing Symphony Orchestra music director Timothy Muffitt and MSU professor of Tuba and Euphonium Phil Sinder about the next Lansing Symphony Orchestra concert. Sinder is the soloist in a Tuba Concerto by TV and film composer, Bruce Broughton.

Michigan State University professor of Cello Suren Bagratuni performs and teaches master classes all over the world.

He also records frequently with producer Sergei Kvitko at Lansing’s Blue Griffin recording studio.

Bagratuni’s latest CD with pianist Jen-Ru Sun, a doctoral graduate from MSU’s College of Music, features selections from Schubert and Schumann.

Bagratuni’s new CD can be found on popular online music sites and at bluegriffin-dot-com.

On Sunday (2/5), the Michigan State University Museum opens an exhibit inspired by women who work in construction and the skilled trades.

"On Equal Terms" features mixed media pieces by Susan Eisenberg, a resident artist at Brandeis University.

Eisenberg talked about the exhibit with WKAR's Scott Pohl, starting with a reading from her poem Hanging In, Solo (So What's It Like To Be the Only Female on the Job?).
