The signing of the Treaty of Ghent marked the end of the War of 1812 on Christmas Eve 1814.

The War of 1812 ended on Christmas Eve of 1814 with the signing of the Treaty of Ghent. However, that didn’t mean the end of hostilities.

The Great Lakes and Michigan were prominent in the War of 1812.
