Flickr - Emanuele

The ride-sharing company called Uber is coming to the Lansing area. An announcement is expected today, which comes on the heels of a new regional approach to the regulation of taxis.Customers use a smartphone app to summon an Uber driver. The company has used a social media advertising campaign to recruit local drivers.

WKAR’s Scott Pohl spoke with East Lansing mayor Nathan Triplett about how the new rules fit in with the arrival of Uber.
