Truscott Rossman was recently recognized by WKAR and Michigan State University for its long-time, continuous philanthropic support of MSU.
The full-service bi-partisan public relations agency accepted the Theophilus C. Abbot Society memento from Susi Elkins, WKAR station manager and director of MSU Broadcasting, and Prabu David, dean of the College of Communication Arts and Sciences, on the set of the WKAR original series, Off the Record.
Truscott Rossman has been a minority funder of Off the Record, produced by WKAR at Michigan State University, for over two decades. The weekly round-up of Michigan government and political news is carried by public broadcasting stations across the state.
The Theophilus C. Abbot Society honors the memory of Theophilus C. Abbot, Michigan State College president from 1862-1885. When he assumed the presidency, the future of the college was anything but certain. Abbot, however, was able to maintain the prestige of the nation’s first agricultural college by firmly establishing a curriculum of “scientific agriculture.” Abbot Society donors reflect the steadfast loyalty and versatility exhibited by President Abbot.
