Susi's Station Notes: We're Everywhere!

Aug 31, 2012

WKAR-TV is proud of its PBS national schedule, which offers you the best in drama, documentary and news. But we are equally proud (maybe a little more so) of the terrific work done right here at WKAR, including BackStage Pass, Off the Record and QuizBusters.

Last week our video crew was at Impression 5 Science center, recording a pilot for a new youth science program featuring Michigan Teacher of the Year Rob Stephenson.  Rob is now the principal at Donley Elementary in East Lansing, and his way with kids and knack for making science fun make him the perfect host.  The best part was working with “The Curious Crew,” a great group of local kids that spent the day hamming it up on camera!

This weekend, WKAR will be at the Mosaic Festival in Adado Park in downtown Lansing to record several acts for BackStage Pass. Later in September, we'll be at the Old Town Blues Festival, so look for us there!

We're also working on a QuizBusters special featuring community leaders and area personalities from the worlds of media, sports, politics and theatre. We'll record that here at WKAR's studios on September 11, with a live audience. Reservations for this have opened, so reserve your seat now! (We'll announce our special teams at WKAR's Fall Preview on September 6.)

There's a lot happening here and we always want to share it with you!  So, don’t forget to check out the festivals and reserve your seats for Fall Preview and QuizBusters.  We'll look forward to seeing you!
