Every month I meet with our programming team and look ahead to some of the new programs or initiatives coming up for WKAR-TV. I thought you might enjoy hearing a few things on our radar.
You may already have signed up for our next Community Cinema event, Solar Mamas, on November 1. If you haven't joined us at one of these screening/discussions, I hope you consider it. In addition to seeing a segment of the program, you'll also enjoy a discussion and presentation by three women who are taking an active role to help end the cycle of poverty and encourage sustainability in Africa.
Later in November we'll feature a preview of Ken Burns' The Dust Bowl as part of our "Evening at WKAR" series. Ken always does terrific documentaries and we're pleased to offer you a sneak peek!
Look for WKAR next month at Lansing's Silver Bells in the City parade! We'll be broadcasting the parade live (and if you are there, look for a repeat in December).
We'll also be recording MSU's annual Home for the Holidays concert to share with you in December as well. It's a terrific event with a lot of wonderful seasonal holiday entertainment from our own College of Music.
There's so much going on — be sure to visit WKAR.org to keep up with all the news!
