Susi's Station Notes: Lots to Like for Everyone!

There's lots to like this week when WKAR is involved! Here's a quick calendar of what's keeping us busy.

Tonight is our Kids' Club event where Kids' Club members will get a special evening including a screening of Curious George Swings Into Spring. (If your children aren't members, you can join right here!)

Jess Knott

But if you aren't a Kids' Club member, you can still enjoy the film and lots of fun activities on Saturday during Fenner Earth Day Extravaganza. The event is free and you can learn more about it HERE.

That's just part of our Earth Day celebration. On Monday, we'll be asking for your support to WKAR. Thanks to our partner Reed Insurance Agency, representing Auto-Owners Insurance, for each pledge made to WKAR Radio or TV, one tree will be planted in the mid-Michigan area by the Michigan Arbor Day Alliance and the Go Green Youth Challenge. Of course we think big -- 1,000 pledges, 1,000 trees!

Gary Hoppenstand

On Thursday, April 25, I'm very excited to welcome Lansing Derby Vixen Jess Knott and MSU pop culture expert Gary Hoppenstand to our WKAR Community Cinema event. We're turning our attention to Wonder Woman: The Story of America's Superheroines and the impact they had on culture in general and women in particular. I met with Jess the other day and I've heard Gary speak before. I can promise you that this will be an evening to remember!

Enjoy all the good things on WKAR this week -- but I hope you'll enjoy some of our fun off-air events, too!
